Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (ft. Robyn)

Dance friendly ballad with lead vocals from Swedish singer Robyn. Robyn's vocals remind of Kate Bush on this track with the same etheral charm.

The Sounds - Painted By Numbers

The Sounds - Painted By Numbers
This is a fun rock/electro track and there's even an Alan Moulder remix of it as well that I'm trying to locate. The Sounds are a rock band from Sweden with an energetic female vocalist by the name of Maja (pronounced "Maya") Ivarsson.

Dead Disco - You're Out

Dead Disco - You're Out
Crunchy, distorted guitars and heavily compressed drums dominate this track, which could easily be mistaken as a track from Garbage. The chorus lies somewhere between Garbage and Gwen Stephanie meets The Teenagers.

Jose Gonzalez - Crosses (Tiesto remix)

Jose Gonzalez - Crosses (Tiesto remix)
Great song with a greater remix, Tiesto gives Jose Gonzalez's Crosses a nice mellowed out trance mix with the four-on-floor treatment. Love how the effects pulsate on the guitar throughout this track.

The Moontrane Conductors - Never The Sun

The Moontrane Conductors - Never The Sun

Organs, melody, and echoey vocals what’s not to love. This track was taken from their 2004 release called EmptySea.

The entire album can be previewed at CD Baby: http://cdbaby.com/cd/moontrane

The Young Punx - You've Got To (Norman Cook Mix)

The Young Punx - You've Got To (Norman Cook Mix)
Ok, I really didn't care for the original but this remix is fun and has the usual hijinx of a Fat Boy Slim track plus some reggae dub sounds to round it all out.

Underworld - Crocodile

Underworld - Crocodile

Tons of trance sounds on this track with echoey vocals by Hyde. Nice to hear Underworld again, after their five year hiatus.

Isabelle Antena - Omerta (Bossa remix by nicola conte)

This is a groovy down tempo brazilian bossa nova jazz track to start your day off right. Has a very Koop sound to the track.

Basement Jaxx - Nifty

Here's the latest from Basement Jaxx, which has put me back in good graces with them. Wasn't a big fan of the last two albums they released, but this track shows them getting back to true form. This is a house track with a rumbling bass synth and all the "classic" basement Jaxx sound.

David Vendetta Featuring Akram - Unidos Para La Musica

David Vendetta Featuring Akram - Unidos Para La Musica

Not something I thought would mix well, but does so with surprising emotion. Haunting Arabic vocals over a deep electronica groove - who knew... The vocals carry so much pain and love they seep through the track.
The track starts off sounding rather Depeche Mode-ish, then vocals start wailing which sounds like Andy Bell (erasure fame), and then quickly turns into more of a Dead Can Dance Vibe. All the while propelling the dance rhythm further and further.

Belleruche - Northen Girls

Downtempo trip hop esque track with a haunting bass line. The bass line itself sounds like it would fit nicely in a Gorillaz track. I love the vocals on this track sung by Kathrin deBoer.

Shout Out Louds - Tonight I Have To Leave It

Yes, How I miss the days of mascara and puffy sneakers... if this track doesn't take you back to the early 80's Cure nothin' will. This track reminds me alot of the Cure's "In Between Days"

Sebastien Leger & Chris Lake - Aqualight

Here's a track that will get everyone to the dance floor. This electro/house number is courtesy of Sebastien Leger & Chris Lake, called "Aqualight". Has great builds and a lead hook to die for. Arpeggiated synth rides along top creating a cool harmony and a swankier groove. This track was taken from thier EP named, "MISTAKES EP".

The Presets - Are You The One

Ok, so my guilty pleasure of the year is the tv show, "So You Think You Can Dance".
For those of you that missed this gem of reality tv, it's a dance show and competition similar to the premise of American Idol. Anyway, aside from being a fun and addicting show every once in a while I'll hear a track they use for a dance routine that just blows me away. The Presets - Are You The One is such a track. This electro/rock tune by the Australian Presets has a very sleazy feel (think soft cell esque meets LCD Soundsystems) and hand claps... I just love me some Hand Claps...

Nitin Sawhey remix of Sting's - A Thousand Years

This remix of Sting's A Thousand Years has a light splattering of electronic elements, a dope dub bassline, and world sounding elements throughout. Nice, chilled, and relaxing.

Ulrich Schnauss - Stars & Medusa

This track is a massive wall of sound similar to shoegazing acts like Lush, Slowdive, and Cocteau Twins. Give this track a minute or two to be drawn in and drowned in a beautiful mix of electronic bliss and dreamy vocals.

Ulrich Schnauss - Medusa
Meduse has swelling vocals that ebb and flow to a soothing wall of sound and a climactic wash, that has a little harder hitting action to it compaired to "Stars"

Both tracks can be found on the Goodbye album by Ulrich Schnauss

She Wants Revenge - Written In Blood

Don't you just love it when you listen to a great album, wonder when the next album will be released, and then find out in just a matter of minutes online that a new album is just around the corner? That happed today when I did a search on She Wants Revenge. Their freshmen outing was a great album from start to finish. Their sophomore outing title, "This is Forever" is due in stores October 9th, 2007!

Lucky Misu - The Skin & Bones

Don't know much about this group other than I love this song. Has a similar feel to a Postal Service track and feels like a missing track from the Garden State soundtrack. It's a catchy synth pop track taken from their EP "Die Silence Die".

Ikon -Signs

Ikon

Here's a downtempo track that feels like a cool breeze with vocals that sound very similar to Zero 7.

Damian Marley - All Night (featuring: Stephen Marley)

This track is taken from the "Welcome to Jamrock" album by Damian Marley.
This Reggae jam is a fun track, which sounds very much like Fatboy Slim.
Here's Verse 2 from "All Night"
It seems she needs to oil her spine
Tell all a gyal toast bread can't build di putty gold mine
Need all di doctor to fish with di essential slime
She tell me she want signal di plane n' time me want slow wine
Turn on di HBO she want fi watch Showtime
Give her di cordless microphone, she want di one with line
Seem like me and young gyal ya just can't combine
So it's sour like lime
Running it down the line Mr. Muffin one timr
Now that's what I call di song writting ya!

Prince - My Name is Prince (Tepr Remix)

Here's a recent White Label remix of "My Name is Prince (Tepr Remix)" by one half of the Abstrackt Keal Agram band, Tanguy Destable.

This is such a classic Prince track with a french house eq treatment on it and a screaming killer synth lead on top.

I love the lyrics on this track, such as:

"In the beginning
God made the Sea
But on the seventh day
He made ME"

Classic Prince all the way.

Juliet - Avalon

Juliet is a 24 year old singer from Philadelphia who's teamed up with Stuart Price (aka Les Rhthmes Digitales). Together, Juliet and Jacques have created an instantly addictive electronic pop sound, a perfectly eclectic combination of throbbing basslines, tough drums, eerie synths and Juliet's sultry delivery

Simian Mobile Disco - I Believe

My favorite track from their latest offering, “Attack Decay Sustain Release”

Has a nice dance club vibe to it, something akin to GusGus. None the less, it's a great melodic track with a great a hook.

Roisin Murphy - "Overpowered"

This is a really great electronica dance track, one of the best I've heard this year. This is so damn catchy and not in bad way catchy.

Roisin Murphy - "Overpowered"
Side Note: Roisin Murphy was the former lead singer from Moloko
